On October 16, 2025, members of the iFood Food Cluster gathered at the uniquely atmospheric Völgyhíd Konyha & Rét in Kőröshegy to celebrate the achievement of Innovation Cluster certification. The event was more than the celebration of a milestone: it reinforced the sense of community, professional openness, and mutual commitment on which the cluster’s success is built.
The program began at 3:30 p.m. with arrivals and informal conversations, followed at 4:00 p.m. by a ceremonial welcome from Linda Szommerné Egyed, President of the iFood Food Cluster. In her address, she emphasized that the certification is recognition of the member companies’ consistent efforts and shared innovations. She highlighted that the cluster’s strength lies in trust and long-term cooperation. She also outlined the significance of the Innovation Cluster certification, noting that beyond prestige it brings tangible benefits: stronger visibility in domestic and international markets, easier partner building, and improved access to development funding.
This was followed by a short presentation from Margit Weisz, Cluster Manager and also a board member of the Hungarian Cluster Community, who summarized the cluster’s strategic directions.
The shared celebratory moment at 4:15 p.m., marked by a toast and a group photo, provided a fitting framework for the occasion. Smiles, congratulations, and personal stories clearly showed that the iFood community is not only a professional network, but a true team.
One of the highlights of the program was the series of lightning introductions by cluster members. In concise yet substantive two-minute presentations, participants gained insight into the latest developments, sustainability solutions, and cooperation opportunities of the individual companies and organizations. The diversity of presentations demonstrated that many segments of the food industry value chain are represented within the cluster—from development and production to packaging and market entry.
The remainder of the evening was spent in informal discussions over a pleasant dinner. New connections were formed, existing collaborations gained fresh momentum, and several ideas for joint projects emerged. The nature-oriented setting and the quality of hospitality further strengthened the community-building impact of the event.
Thank you to all participants whose presence and contributions elevated the event. For us, the Innovation Cluster certification is both recognition and motivation: we will continue working to make the Hungarian food industry’s innovation ecosystem even stronger and more visible internationally.
