On 10 June 2026, a joint professional event of the KÖVET Club and iFood Cluster was held at Dreher Breweries Zrt., focusing on food industry sustainability, ESG reporting and sustainability certifications.
The event was opened by Katalin Herner, managing director of KÖVET Association, followed by a presentation from Ibolya Szabó (Dreher Breweries Zrt.) on what sustainability means for the company, the steps being taken toward more sustainable operations, and how ESG reporting obligations affect them. iFood Cluster’s activities were presented by Margit Weisz.
During the program, sustainability expert István Oláh presented the NAK Sustainability Certifications Handbook, which aims to provide guidance in the increasingly complex world of sustainability certifications.
As a highlight of the event, iFood Cluster and KÖVET Association signed a cooperation agreement; the document was signed by Katalin Herner (KÖVET Association) and Linda Szommerné Egyed (iFood Cluster). Under the agreement, iFood joined KÖVET Association as an associate member, while KÖVET became a cooperating partner of iFood.
As part of the KÖVET Club, a panel discussion moderated by Katalin Herner addressed experiences and challenges in food industry sustainability. The invited experts were Dr. Orsolya Endrédy (Dreher Breweries Zrt.), István Oláh (Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture), Dr. Erzsébet Némedi (Compessa Platform), Tibor Hollósy (Kométa 99 Zrt.) and Rita Komoróczy-Kollár (Kollár Pakk Kft.).
The event concluded with a company visit to the Dreher Breweries brewery and museum, where participants learned about the traditions of beer brewing and the company’s century-and-a-half-long heritage.
